- The Main frame / yoke of a solid yoke DC Machine is made of high permeability rolled steel & for Laminated Yoke motors from sheet steel laminations.
- Standard DC Motors Greater than 1 HP are provided with Interpoles for better commutation.
- Main Poles and Inter Poles are stacked from punched laminated sheet steels.
- Rotors are built up of low loss silicon steel laminations.
- The Main frame of a AC Machine is made up of high quality cast iron.
- Main Stator of AC Motor is made from punched laminated sheet steels.
- Commutators are manufactured from hard drawn electrolytic Copper segments with Mica insulation between segments, and segments and earth.
- Sliprings are moulded and made from bronze ring.
- Enameled copper conductors are used for the Armature winding.
- Armature windings, Main field windings and Inter pole windings are impregnated with high dielectric strength – thermosetting varnish and are cured to render them immune from moisture, acids, alkalis and oils.
- A final coat of moisture protection varnish is also given.
- Rotors are then dynamically balanced.
- All Machines are provided with terminal box generally mounted on the body.
- Quality control at each step of Manufacturing process.
- All Machines are tested before dispatch for their Performance as per IS / IEC Standards.
